Wood Planes

Identifying Marks

Crown logo, usually in end of plane, sometimes in a shield with L.R.

General Information

Despite being a modern toolmaker, Leon's work exhibits traditional qualities and his craftsmanship echoes past generations. His planes are prized by collectors having been produced of extremely high quality wood with great aesthetic appeal and in very limited quantity, often for specific crafting duties, including specialized chairmaking planes. In 1999, he began to gradually slow production and Jim White & son purchased the business.
